Teeth recovery

When the tooth decay damages not only the tooth enamel but also the dentin, it is necessary to  fill the damaged tissue up.

Currently, there are several materials to choose from. We prefer photo composite and glass ionomer materials (so-called white fillings) which bind to the tooth surface. These fillings enable to preserve a greater amount of healthy tissue than older amalgam fillings. Amalgam doesn´t bind to the tooth surface and the filling has to be wedged in a tooth. Therefore more of the tooth tissue has to be removed.

Unless the tooth decay is revealed in time, it can penetrate the pulp and cause the inflammation. The patient is able to sense this because of a toothache. In this case, it is necessary to undergo an endodontic i.e. root canals treatment. This procedure is divided into more steps, it is a bit expensive and later complications could appear.

Standard treatment with a local anaesthesia

The most used anaesthesia nowadays is a local anaesthesia which causes a local, partial desensitisation. Thanks to that we are able to manage almost every procedure in our surgery without an unpleasant pain. We use intraligamentary anaesthesia which is applied directly to the tooth and the effect comes almost immediately. This anaesthesia also doesn´t insensitive a bigger part of the mouth cavity.
